The Strand

As well as the parks, a basketball court and several children's playgrounds, including a mini waterpark await the kids and the young at heart. Opposite the Shore Drive Motel, the strand offers marine stinger enclosures, and a patrolled beach, providing a very safe swim for your family in Townsville's luscious pacific ocean.

The Rock Pool

If the waves are not your thing, the rock pool is directly opposite the Shore Drive Motel. Offering a sheltered environment, the rock pool is a marvel of natural engineering. Sea water is constantly pumped into the pool, after being strained from marine life and stingers into a natural beach setting.

Offering copious seating areas and parkland, with free electric barbeques, this is the perfect location to have a safe swim and a picnic during your stay.
